Adding RTL8139 Into Gentoo With modeprobe
In Gentoo installation, if you are booting kernel with nodetect; then you are required to add Realtek 8139 module to enable the NIC working.
Well, if you run modprobe rtl8139, r8139 or realtek8319 won’t work. The correct modprobe is;
modeprobe 8139too

As far as I know, there are 8139too (new driver), rtl8139 (old driver) and 8139cp for RealTek 8139C+ in Linux kernel. Never heard of r8139 or realtek8319 though. Probably drivers from vendor?
