Blog Rush will Perform Major Changes in 48 Hours

Within 48 hours from now, BlogRush is going to make some major changes on their system; some important one included;

100% MANUAL BLOG REVIEW

Our team is going to be manually reviewing every single new blog that
registers to participate in the BlogRush Network.

We’ll be applying some quality guidelines and criteria to our
decision-making process. (We’ll be publishing these guidelines very
soon.) If a blog does not meet our guidelines and criteria, THEY
WILL BE REJECTED from the network and not allowed to join — i.e.
they won’t be able to serve our widget, refer other users, or have
their blog posts distributed across our network. They will have no
access to any BlogRush services.

MORE CATEGORIES

We’re going to be greatly expanding our directory of categories to
increase the relevancy of post links appearing in the widget on your
blog — this will also increase click-rates (and traffic) for all
members.

IMPROVED REPORTING

SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL LOW-TRAFFIC MEMBERS: In the near future we’ll be
giving our low-traffic members (those that need more traffic the
most) the BULK of our bonus credit allocations. You’ll get a ton
more bonus credits than high-traffic members because you really need
it. It’s only FAIR!

IMPROVED NETWORK DISTRIBUTION

A few of our users have noticed that they’re building up credits
faster than the system is using them. This will eventually balance
itself out as the network continues to “adjust” to the growth levels
and traffic patterns of each category

BLOG POST CONTROLS

For example, you can add a keyword or phrase and create a new post
filter. If you ever create a post on your blog (while you have that
filter active — and you can add/delete them at anytime) that
contains one of those keywords in the TITLE of your blog post, that
post…

WILL *NOT* BE SHOWN ACROSS THE NETWORK. And you won’t use any of
your syndication credits!

Good work BlogRush team members, I am waiting you guys to come back Live! again with those major improvements.

Servers Uptime. More Than 356 days, 1 Year Old

Phew, time flies… I’ve been working with AIMS for more than a year, looking back on the 2 FreeBSD servers (5.4 latest at that time) I setup when I first came in, the uptime is 1 year old now. To be frank, I never have any servers hold more than 365 days uptime.

Mail Relay Server

Mail relay server, powered by exim

9:54AM up 490 days, 18:46, 1 user, load averages: 0.10, 0.04, 0.01

Nagios & Smokeping

Another server is running Nagios and Smokeping.

9:58AM up 404 days, 21:56, 1 user, load averages: 1.16, 1.04, 1.02

Voila! Hope I can see 800 days next year :D

A Mess Up Working Area

Apples In The House

Looking at this area, which is the working place that fit me and my fellow colleagues. Routers and switches around the floor for the networking engineers, and there are hidden development machines under the boomerang’s table too. Can you count how many Apple machines are there? :D

Proper Testing Lab For Us

We are working hard to have our Testing Lab ready by next year, a proper place for us to arrange and secure our hardware and test gears.

Any testing lab that you guys seen it online and willing to share? Comments are welcome! We are looking for input to design our testing lab.

You Must Restart Your MacBook Now

Apple Macbook Restart

Apple Macbook Restart Error Message

Got this error message from my machine 2 days ago, this is the first time I saw Apple Macbook error message, the reason why the message popup was because I have accidentally removed my mobile phone USB charger without doing proper removal/hardware eject.

Only Choice, Restart It!

When you see this screen appear, the only thing you can do, hold the Power Button, turn your Macbook off and turn it on again. It’s similar to Microsoft “blue screen”, but as always, Apple give you better User Interface experience ;)

How to Increase Visitor Traffic To You Blog

Posting content on your blog everyday, but not sure is anyone reading it? I am also having the same problem, the visitor traffic is so slow for the past few months. Finding ways on how to increase the traffic on my blog, also it’s has been since a while I did not update my blog, so it could be no new content so that no one is interested to visit.

Found an interesting portal to build your blog traffic by putting a widget on your blog, and sharing your feed with others when they have widget on your blog too. And the widget sense the title of a content, and it’s relevant to your post, your article might have a chance to publish on the widget.

The widget looks quiet cool, javascript based, just put it on your blog’s sidebar, and it looks good too. Like mine;
