Working on A New Project

Recently I had a brain storm session with few friends of mine. We were talking about starting a portal which will benefit the community. A portal will bring useful information to the community. Think this is what I can say so far, we will announce more, when we have our beta launch

Tips of the Day: phpinfo(), Code That Shouldn’t Show To Public

I notice that most of the programmer love to do phpinfo() on info.php, info.html page. But they do not know that such information may vulnerable to attacker. Some even have it as apache’s default DocumentRoot.

If you want like to use phpinfo(), it’s advice to use a random name for php filename. For example infoxxxxx.php, noinfo123123aa.php, testinfo123213.php. Beside that, you can remove the code immediately after you got what you want.

AIMS Data Centre joins Asia’s Leading Data Centres in forming Data Centre Alliance

This morning we got a memo or enlighten announcement from Marketing & Communications; Which is one of the good news for AIMS Data Centre, below is the quote from the memo;

Kuala Lumpur, 18 June 2008 - Four of South East Asia’s leading data centres namely Malaysia’s The AIMS Asia Group, Singapore’s 1-Net Singapore, Vietnam’s CMC Telecom and Thailand’s TCC Technology (TCCT) announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to form a Data Centre Alliance to meet acute data centre requirements in the region. Together, the data centres within the Alliance will form a one-stop Hub that provides a full suite of services and connectivity.

With a combined space of more than 500,000 square feet and a projected annual turnover of approximately RM240 million by 2009, the Alliance will become one of the biggest data centre operators in the region catered for first-tier telcos, government agencies, banks and other businesses.

After Unity Consortium, this is another great move for our Data Centre to go further in international Data Centre business. Looking forward for more good news this year.

Blog Rush will Perform Major Changes in 48 Hours

Within 48 hours from now, BlogRush is going to make some major changes on their system; some important one included;

100% MANUAL BLOG REVIEW

Our team is going to be manually reviewing every single new blog that
registers to participate in the BlogRush Network.

We’ll be applying some quality guidelines and criteria to our
decision-making process. (We’ll be publishing these guidelines very
soon.) If a blog does not meet our guidelines and criteria, THEY
WILL BE REJECTED from the network and not allowed to join — i.e.
they won’t be able to serve our widget, refer other users, or have
their blog posts distributed across our network. They will have no
access to any BlogRush services.

MORE CATEGORIES

We’re going to be greatly expanding our directory of categories to
increase the relevancy of post links appearing in the widget on your
blog — this will also increase click-rates (and traffic) for all
members.

IMPROVED REPORTING

SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL LOW-TRAFFIC MEMBERS: In the near future we’ll be
giving our low-traffic members (those that need more traffic the
most) the BULK of our bonus credit allocations. You’ll get a ton
more bonus credits than high-traffic members because you really need
it. It’s only FAIR!

IMPROVED NETWORK DISTRIBUTION

A few of our users have noticed that they’re building up credits
faster than the system is using them. This will eventually balance
itself out as the network continues to “adjust” to the growth levels
and traffic patterns of each category

BLOG POST CONTROLS

For example, you can add a keyword or phrase and create a new post
filter. If you ever create a post on your blog (while you have that
filter active — and you can add/delete them at anytime) that
contains one of those keywords in the TITLE of your blog post, that
post…

WILL *NOT* BE SHOWN ACROSS THE NETWORK. And you won’t use any of
your syndication credits!

Good work BlogRush team members, I am waiting you guys to come back Live! again with those major improvements.
